The West Virginia Immunization Network is a statewide coalition of over 200 public and private partners engaged in creating and sustaining an environment where every resident is protected from vaccine-preventable diseases.
ABOUT THE WEST VIRGINIA IMMUNIZATION NETWORK
WIN provides a source of accurate, evidence-based information on the importance of immunizations for all West Virginians.  WIN accomplishes its work by:
  • Working in partnership with the West Virginia Division of Immunization Services
  • Identifying and removing barriers to immunization services
  • Educating families, health care providers and community members about the importance of timely immunizations and the consequences of vaccine-preventable diseases
  • Raising awareness among policymakers and fostering effective public policies
PREVENTION:  CHEAPER THAN TREATMENT
By getting age-appropriate vaccinations, West Virginia's businesses save both direct and in-direct costs associated with vaccine-preventable diseases:
  • For every $1 spent on MMR vaccine, more than $21 is saved
  • For every $1 spent on DTaP, $24 is saved
  • For every $1 spent on Hib vaccine, more than $2 is saved

WIN foresees a future in which all West Virginians - from newborns to adolescents to seniors - are protected from the consequences of vaccine-preventable diseases.
